2025 Bill McDonnell Memorial Golf Fundraiser

The Bill McDonnell Memorial Golf Fundraiser is more than just a day on the green—it’s a celebration of a remarkable life and a chance to make a meaningful difference in our community. Bill McDonnell, a proud Omaha native and Navy veteran of World War II, dedicated his life to public service and the betterment of others.

As President of Local 385 from 1961 to 1964 and again from 1965 to 1977, Bill was a steadfast advocate for workers’ rights and workforce development. His leadership extended beyond his union work when he served as Public Safety Director for the City of Omaha from 1977 to 1981. In 2007, Bill was elected President Emeritus of Local 385, a testament to his enduring impact and respect within the labor community. His contributions were further recognized when he was inducted into the Nebraska AFL-CIO Hall of Fame in 2010.

Bill’s commitment to service and his vision of empowering others remain the foundation of this annual event. By coming together to honor his legacy, we continue to support initiatives that reflect his passion for building a stronger, more prosperous community.
