The annual CalvertHealth Foundation Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk is one of the most successful fundraisers for the Sheldon E. Goldberg Center for Breast Care, named in honor of the late Dr. Sheldon E. Goldberg, who helped bring comprehensive breast care to Calvert County more than 10 years ago. Today, the breast center remains true to its vision; CalvertHealth is proud to be the first in Southern Maryland to provide a center with coordinated breast health care which is conveniently located to all in the Southern Maryland region.
The 16th annual 5K is being held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Solomons, Maryland. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. and the race kicks off at 8:30 a.m. at the Solomons Medical Center located at 14090 HG Trueman Road, Solomons, Maryland. Please park in the field directly across from the Calvert Marine Museum.
Participants will begin with a pre-event warm-up followed by a 5K walk or run around a mapped course throughout scenic Solomons Island. The conclusion of the event features award presentations, appreciation from hospital leadership, and medals for all participants.
