ABOUT CARLOS REYES
Carlos Reyes, internationally renowned recording artist, producer, engineer, harpist, and violinist -- has been breaking musical barriers since his first public performance at the age of five. Born in Paraguay, he began his musical education at the age of three and a half on the violin. A few years later, his father, a musical and national hero in Paraguay, dared young Carlos to learn the complicated 36-string native Paraguayan harp. A child prodigy at an early age, he took his fathers challenge seriously and purchased his first harp for $50 when he was ten years old. Just two weeks later, he earned a double encore and $250 at his first professional harp concert. Since then he has taken the harp and its music to new and ground breaking levels. READ MORE >>

ABOUT POMEROY LIVE!
The Pomeroy Center Arts Series serves a diverse population: people living on San Francisco's west side; and adults with developmental disabilities from throughout the City. People with disabilities generally have little access to quality live arts performance, particularly in a classic setting. The residents of the Sunset District in San Francisco also experience a shortage of live arts performances, in that nearly all event venues are several miles to the East.

What is exciting about our arts series is that we will be creating a truly inclusive environment, one where Pomeroy Center clients and their non-disabled neighbors will attend high quality live arts events side by side. The series will also provide vocational training, with clients learning to do event setup, ushering, working at will call, selling concessions, and serving as hosts for our community guests.
