Kate’s Hole Oyster Restoration Volunteer Event

About This Event

Date: Saturday, June 6
Check-In: 8:15 AM | Packery Boat Ramp Parking Lot, 11862 TX-361, Corpus Christi, TX 78418
Event Time: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

Join us for a hands-on coastal restoration event at Kate’s Hole on Mustang Island, held in partnership with Sink Your Shucks™ and the Coastal Conservation and Restoration Lab!

Volunteers will help build a living shoreline by filling biodegradable bags with oyster shell and placing them along the shoreline. These bagged shells create oyster reef habitat while helping stabilize and protect the shoreline.

The first 100 volunteers to check in on Saturday, June 6 will snag a special giveaway from Poncho Outdoors!

Important: Parking at Kate’s Hole is limited. All volunteers must check in at Packery Boat Ramp Parking Lot, where shuttle transportation will be provided to and from the worksite. Click here to view location on Google Maps.

This project is made possible through funding from CITGO and the Coastal Conservation Association. Thank you to Poncho Outdoors for their continued partnership and support of oyster restoration efforts.

For accessibility questions, accommodation requests, or general questions about the event, please contact Lauren Piorkowski at lauren@cbbep.org
