About This Event
The John Spellman Art Gallery at Grays Harbor College invites local artists, community members, and students to participate in Coastal Coasters, a community art exhibition and fundraising auction.
Inspired by the creativity of our coastal region, participants are invited to create original artwork on a 4" x 4" coaster. This unique format celebrates both our connection to the Pacific Coast and the vibrant culture that makes our community special.
For a $5 entry fee, participants will receive three coasters to create their artwork. Coaster kits may be picked up at the John Spellman Library or mailed upon request. Groups, including K-12 classrooms, are invited to participate for $20 per group, making this a fun and accessible opportunity to showcase up to 20 submissions.
Completed entries are due to the John Spellman Library by December 10, 2026.
All accepted entries will be displayed in the John Spellman Art Gallery as part of a public exhibition opening January 5, 2027. The exhibition will conclude with a Closing Reception and Live Auction on February 4, 2027, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where attendees will have the opportunity to bid on their favorite pieces. The highest bidder will take home each artwork.
Proceeds from the auction will support future Coastal Coasters exhibitions and help sustain the operations, programming, and community engagement activities of the John Spellman Art Gallery.
