Getting to the Chili Cook-Off

We are on 22 acres of property. This year's Chili Cook-Off will be on the front of the property outside of our new building.

Who is Texas Humane Heroes and what do we do?

Texas Humane Heroes (TXHH) is a private, non-profit, No Kill 501(c)(3) organization that has been saving lives and creating families since 1979. For over 45 years, we’ve worked with more than 50 shelter partners across Texas to rescue adoptable dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia and give them the second chance they deserve.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: end pet homelessness and keep pet ownership affordable.
We make this mission a reality through three core initiatives:

  • Affordable Spay/Neuter Services – stopping pet overpopulation before it starts.

  • High-Volume Adoptions – ensuring more families can welcome pets into their homes.

  • Pet Retention Programs – providing families with the resources they need to care for their pets without financial barriers.

Building on this mission, our on-site veterinary clinic offers low-cost care for the community, including spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, heartworm treatment, dental care, microchipping, and compassionate end-of-life services — making quality veterinary care accessible to everyone.

Together, these efforts keep pets with the people who love them, while moving us closer to a day when every pet has a home.
