October 18th: Volunteer at Jacobson - Planting at Trailhead

We need your help to restore Jacobson Preserve Trailhead! We will be planting 200 live grass plugs around the trailhead and applying mulch and cardboard around the nearly planted grasses.

What: Planting 200 live grass plugs.

Where: Jacobson Preserve Trailhead

When: Sunday, Oct. 18th from 1 pm to 4 pm. Rain or shine!

Please bring clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and comfortable shoes.

We will provide gloves, cardboard, tools, as well as drinks and snacks.

The work will focus around the Jacobson Trailhead. To plant the grass plugs we will be using hand augers and shovels to dig holes for the plants to go. Once planted, we will apply a cardboard collar around each live plant and use 5 gallon buckets and wheelbarrows to deliver mulch on top of the cardboard. Designated parking for the trailhead is located at the WRAC along the fence to the right as you drive into the lot. Additional parking is located along Skyline Drive. Expect to work on mostly flat terrain, however, some areas are mildly sloped.
