Dive into the art of sourdough in this 3-hour workshop! Join James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and celebrated fermenter Sarah Owens as she shares her expertise in crafting sourdough starters and transforming them into delicious breads or treats. You’ll learn how to mix, shape, score, and bake your own loaf of bread, plus discover how to use sourdough as an ingredient in chocolate chip cookies made with freshly ground wholegrain flour. The class concludes with a tasting of various sourdough-leavened breads to inspire your baking.

What You’ll Make & Take Home:

  • 1 loaf of your class-baked sourdough bread 
  • Chocolate chip cookies made with sourdough 
  • A mini-kit with starter and guidance for baking at home

About the instructor: Sarah Owens is the author of "Sourdough," winner of a James Beard Foundation award, and other craft-driven cookbooks. She leads classes in the Bay Area and beyond.
