2025 Sustainability Award Honoree

The Herbert & Nell Singer Foundation

The Herbert & Nell Singer Foundation works to advance social policy innovation in the areas of healthcare, criminal justice reform, and education. With its focus on both implementing Restorative Justice practices in Connecticut and improving the outcomes for youth in the post-secondary school education space, the Foundation works to understand and address the underlying social concerns and issues for CT’s low-income communities. In addition to this work, the Foundation's Singer Fellowship program encourages new attorneys to enter the field of public service law in Connecticut to create a fairer system of justice for all our residents, particularly those who cannot afford a lawyer. CCA’s LGBTQ+ Youth Advocacy Project was started and is staffed by 2023 Singer Fellow, Attorney Mallory Sanchez.
