Beneath the Oaks brings together gardeners, conservationists, landscape professionals, community leaders, and the simply curious for an afternoon exploring the plants, people, and places that shape the Lowcountry.

4:00–6:00 PM | Breakout Sessions
Choose two sessions exploring topics from native plants and habitat to cultural preservation and landscape management.

6:00–7:00 PM | Reception
Gather with fellow attendees, speakers, and community partners for drinks and conversation.

7:00–8:00 PM | Keynote with Preston Montague

Across the country, communities are rethinking how public spaces can better support both people and the natural world. Landscape architect Preston Montague will explore how thoughtful design, collaboration, and policy can transform urban landscapes into thriving ecosystems that support biodiversity, resilience, and a stronger connection to place.

Drawing from projects throughout the Southeast, Preston will share real-world examples of how these ideas are moving beyond the residential garden and into the communities around us.
