Gravel Gardening: From Design to Installation

About This Event

Gravel Gardening: From Design to Installation

Thursday, January 14th

10:00 am- 11:00 am

What does it take to transform a traditional garden into a thriving gravel garden?

Join Ben Lenhardt for a behind-the-scenes look at the design and creation of his own gravel garden. Using before-and-after photographs and images from throughout the project, Ben will walk through the process from the earliest ideas and design decisions to plant selection, installation, and the finished landscape.

Gravel gardening uses a deep layer of gravel with carefully selected, deep-rooted and drought-tolerant perennials to create a landscape that can conserve water while helping suppress weeds. Ben will share what he learned through designing and overseeing the installation of his garden, offering a homeowner’s perspective on both the process and the possibilities of this increasingly popular gardening approach.

The presentation will be followed by plenty of time for questions and conversation, giving attendees an opportunity to dig deeper into the choices, challenges, and lessons behind the project.

Ben has also generously offered attendees the opportunity to visit his garden at a future scheduled time, providing a chance to experience the landscape discussed during the presentation in person.

Member Price- $20

Non-Member Price- $30
