About This Event

Bog Wild: Carnivorous Plants & Bog Gardening

Tuesday, September 15th

10am- 11:00am

Step into the fascinating world of bogs and carnivorous plants with Tess Moody, Forestry and Natural Resources Extension Associate with Clemson University.

Discover the natural bogs found throughout South Carolina and learn about the unique conditions that allow their remarkable plant communities to thrive. Tess will introduce you to carnivorous plants suited for growing outdoors and share what makes these unusual plants so well adapted to their environment.

Then, roll up your sleeves to create your own outdoor carnivorous plant bowl garden to take home (all materials included). You'll learn about plant selection, growing media, moisture requirements, placement, and long-term care so you can confidently keep your miniature bog thriving in your own garden.

Registration closes September 1. Due to the advance ordering required for the plants and materials, tickets will not be available after this date.

CHS Member price: $50 //Non-members: $60

Member Pricing Note:

Please select the discounted HORT Member ticket only if your membership is currently active. Not sure of your membership status? Give The HORT office a call at 843-577-9922 during our open hours, and we’ll be happy to check for you.

Please note that workshop registrations are non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding, as your spot helps us plan and provide the best possible experience for all attendees.
