A Walking Tour of the MUSC Arboretum

About This Event

A Walking Tour of the MUSC Arboretum

Wednesday, October 21

Approximately 10am-11:30am, with the opportunity to continue exploring as time allows

Discover a greener side of MUSC on a guided walking tour through the gardens, historic landscapes, and horticultural spaces woven throughout its downtown campus.

Led by Noni Langford, Special Projects Coordinator and Pocket Urban Farm Manager at the Medical University of South Carolina, the tour will begin at MUSC’s young Food Forest before continuing through some of the many landscapes that make up the campus-wide Arboretum. Along the way, participants will explore the medicinal gardens, Horseshoe area, Camellia Garden with more than 100 varieties, and historic areas of campus, with the possibility of continuing to the pollinator garden as time and the group’s pace allow.

MUSC’s Arboretum encompasses the university’s main campus and includes more than 2,000 trees, creating an urban landscape designed to connect people with nature while supporting learning and well-being.

Please Note: This is an active walking tour covering multiple areas of MUSC’s 100-acre campus. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly encouraged, and participants should be prepared for an extended period of walking outdoors.
