About This Event

Wings in the Garden: Designing for Monarchs

Wed, June 3

10:00 am

If you’ve ever spotted a monarch drifting through the garden and thought I want more of that, this workshop is for you. Join us for Wings in the Garden: Planting for Monarchs with Destiny Hertz of Songbird Nursery and learn how to turn your garden into a true butterfly haven.

Destiny will walk you through everything you need to support monarchs at every stage of their lifecycle, from tiny eggs to caterpillars to those iconic orange-and-black wings. We’ll talk milkweed (the must-have host plant), the best nectar sources for our region, and how to design a garden that provides food, shelter, and a safe place to land along their incredible migration journey.

You’ll leave with practical plant lists, easy-to-follow tips, and a fresh perspective on how even small garden spaces can make a big impact. Plus, it’s a chance to connect with fellow plant lovers who get just as excited about butterflies as you do.

More butterflies, more movement, more life in the garden, what’s not to love? Spots are limited, so grab yours and get ready to plant with purpose.

CHS Member price: $15 //Non-members: $20

Please note that workshop registrations are non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding, as your spot helps us plan and provide the best possible experience for all attendees.

Thank you for supporting our programs and helping us grow together!
