Children’s Home Society of Florida, along with our Honorary Chair, Helen Ervin, is bringing Chef’s Sampler back, but with a TWIST!

It’s our honor to introduce the first Chefs’ Taste of Home coming to Downtown Tallahassee on April 27, 2024. We invite epicurean aficionados and experience seekers to join us for a Saturday afternoon indulging in the finest, local cuisine, artfully paired libations, and a downtown walkabout around and within the area's most historic and finest homes.

Guests will set off on a guided tour of five, beautiful downtown homes where they will enjoy an artfully curated signature dish from an esteemed Chef with wine pairings at each stop.

Our esteemed featured Chefs are:

• Chef Blake Shine of Hayward House
• Chef Leon Brunson of Leon’s at Lake Ella
• Chef Juan of Real Paella
• Chef Andrew Stock of Seven Hills Hospitality: The Hawthorn Bistro & Bakery, El Cocinero, Black Radish, Liberty Bar, Bar 1903, and Rae's
• Mom and Dad’s Italian Restaurant

Here’s How the Evening Will Flow: 

Your ticket will give you exclusive access to five, downtown homes where at each home a local chef will have prepared a signature dish for you along with a thoughtfully paired wine offering (other beverages available). There are five groups (45 people in each group) with a tour guide. Each group will set off promptly at 1 pm to sip, dine, and stroll to each of the five homes. 

By the end of the evening, you will have visited all homes and tasted each Chef's signature dish! Be sure to keep up with your tour guide throughout the event and, most importantly, have a wonderful time in beautiful, Downtown Tallahassee! 

As an added bonus, all ticket holders are invited to the exclusive, Chefs Taste of Home Kickoff Party on Thursday, April 25 from 6-8 pm at the historic Chittenden House (circa 1840) in Downtown Tallahassee, 323 E Park Avenue, Tallahassee, FL. Join us for an evening of small bites, libations, live music, and a celebration of the inaugural Chefs’ Taste of Home. 

Funds raised through Chefs’ Taste of Home will benefit our North Florida Programs and help us continue to DO GOOD for our CHS children and families.

  • When a child has a developmental delay, it can be scary, confusing and overwhelming. Early Steps helps parents navigate these challenges, celebrate the milestones and help their child reach his or her full potential.
• Healthy Start
  • This free, voluntary program offers compassionate support and resources to pregnant women – many referred by their physician – and families with newborns.
• Community Partnership Schools
  • By addressing barriers to learning—poverty, mental health struggles, homelessness and others – Community Partnership Schools bring together high-quality academic supports, health care, counseling, mentoring and more.
