About This Event
Get ready, Chicago — our city’s most outrageous new tradition is here! The Great Chicago Bed Race is the Chicago Furniture Bank’s second annual high-energy, high-impact fundraiser where teams of 5+ people race rolling bed frames to support a serious cause: ending furniture poverty.
Teams will transform bed frames (provided by CFB) into custom racers and go head-to-head down a stretch of road in a hilarious, fast-paced competition. With prizes for speed, creativity, and team spirit—plus food, drinks, and fun for all—this is more than just a race. It’s a celebration of home, dignity, and community.
All proceeds help the Chicago Furniture Bank furnish homes for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.
Let’s turn the streets into a raceway—and empty rooms into homes.
Who Can Race:
Teams can be made up of 5 or more people. Racing teams consist of four pushers and one rider. Beds are provided—no building required. Just sign up, show up, dress up, and have a blast. Fundraising is encouraged but not required!
Schedule

Team check-in begins at 9:30 AM

Races start at 11:00 AM and run in heats

Awards, music, raffles, and celebration until 1:00 PM
Parking
Free street parking is available nearby. We recommend arriving early to secure a spot. Rideshares are encouraged.
Attire

Closed-toe shoes are required for all participants

Costumes are strongly encouraged

Dress for movement and fun—this is an outdoor event, rain or shine
What You Need

You do not need to bring a bed—we provide race-ready beds
