About This Event
The “Church at the Park Community Health Worker Training” was developed to offer a CHW training specifically geared towards serving those experiencing homelessness and complex health needs.
This is a six-week course consisting of 5 in-person days (September 28th - October 2nd) in a row followed by 5 in-person Tuesdays (October 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, and November 3rd) and 4 asynchronous online sessions with some online homework. Sessions will start promptly at 9 am and finish at 4:30 pm. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch. Lunch and light snacks will be provided. The training will take place at St. Thomas Church, located at 546 High Street NE, Salem, OR 97301.
You must attend at least 8 out of the 10 in-person sessions and complete all online learning in order to receive a certificate from Church at the Park indicating that you have successfully completed the training series. If you miss more than 2 in-person sessions and/or have not completed any of the online learning, you will not be able to receive CHW certification.
While scholarships are not currently available for this training, we understand that cost may be a consideration for some applicants. If funding becomes available, we will be glad to share an update, though financial assistance cannot be guaranteed at this time.
