Fezziwig's Ball

Registration has ended

About This Event

Let's Have a Ball!

We are excited to announce that registration is open to attend CLASSICAL's inaugural Fezziwig’s Ball on December 6! Our 7th and 8th grade Sentinels will have the opportunity to dress in period clothing and learn Victorian era contra-dancing. The ball will feature a caller and full band, who will accompany dancers during the evening's festivities. Ms. Underwood, our dance caller, will visit the 7th and 8th grade PE classes to teach these dances ahead of the Ball, so everyone can come prepared to dance the night away!

For the upcoming school dance, students are encouraged to dress in a manner that reflects the early 19th century, specifically the period in which Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol was written (around the 1840s). Gentlemen may consider formal attire such as waistcoats, cravats, or tailcoats, while ladies might opt for dresses with gowns that match the period as much as is possible.

Please refer to the attachment for some visual inspiration to help guide your attire choices. Additionally, our art teacher, Mrs. Hofmann, will be assisting students with dress ideas during art class leading up to the event.

As always, please remember that the standards of modesty and decorum outlined in the school's uniform policy also apply to this event. Attire should be respectful and appropriate for a school function, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and confident. We look forward to celebrating together in style!

Light snacks and drink will be provided, the dance will begin at 7:00pm and conclude at 9:30pm. This event will be held at the Vine campus in the Sts. Peter and Paul gymnasium.
