2025 Strengthening Democracy Awards

Civic Nebraska’s Strengthening Democracy Awards are an annual celebration of civic courage, creativity, and connection across our state. This fall, Nebraskans will come together for our 2025 awards celebration dedicated to recognizing those who quietly and consistently strengthen our democracy.

This year’s program, at 5:30 pm CDT on Oct. 16 at Omaha’s Livestock Exchange Building, features keynote speaker Jewel Rodgers, Nebraska's State Poet. Through performance, storytelling, and engaging arts activities, Jewel and other presenters will explore how creative expression and civic engagement go hand in hand.

The event is open and inclusive. With a pay-what-you-can ticket model, everyone is welcome to attend. The evening is designed to foster connection and reflection, while spotlighting individuals who embody our civic values.
