Founded in 1945 by Cal Farley, Kids, Inc. has been a cornerstone of youth development in Amarillo, Texas, for nearly 80 years. Initially established to provide a safe and positive environment for young boys during World War II, Kids, Inc. has grown exponentially from its humble beginnings with just 11 participants. In 2023, Kids, Inc. served 18,677 children annually across 27 unique sports seasons, making it the leading provider of youth sports programs in Amarillo, Canyon, and the surrounding communities.
The impact of Rockrose Sports Park on the Amarillo area will be profound. This complex will alleviate the pressure on existing athletic fields and provide a world-class facility to host regional tournaments, enhancing Amarillo’s profile as a destination for youth sports. The complex will center on the community’s broader plans to improve access to recreational spaces and promote healthy lifestyles.

In the event of severe weather during the Clays for Kids charity shoot, our priority is the safety of participants, volunteers, and staff. Since this is a charity event raising funds locally through business sponsors for Kids, Inc., we are prepared to delay or cancel the shoot if necessary.
Should cancellation become unavoidable, participants can either request a refund or donate their registration fee to support the Kids, Inc. Rockrose Sports Park Campaign. While we hope to proceed as planned, the event's primary focus is supporting Kids, Inc., and cancellation may be necessary to ensure everyone's safety.
We have designated the indoor facility at The Amarillo Gun Club as the indoor location where participants and volunteers can gather to discuss weather updates and potential cancellations. In the event of lightning or other hazardous conditions, the shoot will be canceled or delayed accordingly.
On the day of the event, we will monitor local weather reports through weather radios and update participants in real time.
