About This Event

MET would like to welcome Centenary University's Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Hunt Seat Coach, ANRC - American National Riding Commission Hunt Seat Coach, and Professor, Michael Dowling as a clinician for our 2024 mounted clinic series.

Having been involved with horses for the past 30 years, Michael Dowling brings a great deal of equine experience to Centenary University’s Equine Department. Academically diverse studies from Fairfield University in Connecticut and a Rotary Scholarship to the University of Lancaster in Lancashire, England round out his education. Following studies in England, Michael opened Windham Hill, a training facility in northwestern New Jersey where the focus is on training and preparing horses and riders for the show ring.

His students have gone on to win classes at prestigious horse shows including The National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden, Devon Horse Show, Harrisburg, Washington International and the FEI Young Riders. Managing and qualifying both horses and riders for regional, zone, and national hunter and equitation finals and more recently bringing riders to the Grand Prix level in the jumper ring. Michael currently owns and operates Windham Hill, out of Far Hills, New Jersey and Ocala, Florida.

Along with horse show management (including The Gladstone Horse Show), judging, stewarding and course designing at recognized and unrecognized events, as well as giving clinics on both east and west coasts, Michael brings his knowledge and experience to the students of Centenary University. Since joining Centenary, Michael has coached the IHSA team to three national championship titles, a reserve champion title, and three Cacchione Cup champions.
