2026 Homecoming Pickleball Tournament

Something new is coming to Homecoming & Family Weekend! Grab your partner and join us for the inaugural Coker Homecoming Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, October 17.

Open to Coker alumni, students, faculty, staff, families, friends and the greater community, this doubles tournament is designed to bring a little friendly competition to Homecoming Weekend. Whether you're playing for the trophy, the bragging rights or simply a fun morning on the courts, we'd love to have you join us.

$20 per doubles team
Proceeds benefit the Coker Annual Fund.

Registration closes Monday, October 12.

Tournament Format

Players will register as two-person doubles teams and remain with their partner throughout the tournament.

Teams will be randomly placed into the tournament bracket. The Tournament Director will determine the final competition format based on the number of registered teams, with double-elimination play preferred when registration numbers and time allow.

Games will be played to 11 points, win by 2.

The Tournament Director's goal is to complete all matches within the scheduled tournament window. The Director reserves the right to modify the tournament format, scoring, game length, court assignments or schedule as necessary to facilitate completion of the event.

What to Know Before You Play

Please bring your own pickleball paddle. Coker will provide Franklin X-40 outdoor pickleballs for tournament play.

Players will make their own line calls. In the event of uncertainty or disagreement, the call will be made in favor of the opposing team. Certified referees and line judges will NOT be provided.

All teams should arrive early enough to check in and warm up before tournament play begins. Check in begins at 9:00am. Additional check-in and arrival information will be emailed to registered players prior to Homecoming Weekend.

What to Bring

The tournament will be held outdoors, so players are encouraged to bring water, sunscreen, and anything else needed to remain comfortable between matches. Water and light refreshments will be available for participants.

Spectators are welcome and there is no charge to watch, so bring your Homecoming crew along to cheer you on!

Weather Policy

Because this is an outdoor event, tournament plans are subject to weather conditions. If weather requires cancellation, registered participants will be notified by Friday, October 16. There will be no rain date.

Registration

Registration is by doubles team. One registration should include information for both players. Tournament registration closes October 12.

• Coker affiliation/class year, if applicable

Registration & Refund Policy

All tournament registration fees are nonrefundable, including in the event of personal cancellation or cancellation of the tournament due to weather or other circumstances. Should the tournament be canceled, your registration fee will remain as a contribution to the Coker Annual Fund, supporting the University's greatest areas of need.
