Monsignor Shea is widely known as one of the most compelling Christian thinkers and educational leaders in the nation. At just 34 years old, he became the youngest college or university president in the United States, and under his leadership, the University of Mary has earned national attention for its commitment to classical learning, Christian anthropology, and cultural renewal.
Without the Golden Gryphon Fund, approximately one-third of Capstone students would be unable to attend due to the cost of tuition. For families with limited financial means, this fund provides access to a transformative classical Christian education. Your support of the Golden Gryphon Fund ensures that students are able to attend Capstone, preparing the next generation to faithfully fulfill their God-given callings.
The Academy Fund exists to sustain the momentum that launched our school and to ensure that Capstone continues to grow with excellence and intentionality. It is an occasional annual fund that allows us to act decisively—hiring outstanding teachers ahead of enrollment growth, strengthening our arts and athletics programs, investing in faculty formation, stewarding our campus well, and building the infrastructure needed for the future God is calling us toward.

Capstone Classical Academy, now in its fourth year, serves 290 students in grades Pre-K through 10. The school anticipates graduating its first senior class in 2028 and will reach full capacity at an enrollment of 560 students. In January 2025, Capstone opened the doors to its stunning new 92,000 sq. ft. permanent campus, nestled on 18 acres in South Fargo — a milestone marking an exciting new chapter in the academy’s mission to cultivate wisdom, virtue, and academic excellence.
