Presented by Colorado After School Partnership

Panel - Youth Well-Being & Mental Health in Out of School Time

About This Event

November 10th
1:00 - 2:30
No Cost

What happens after the school bell rings matters for young people’s mental health. Afterschool and summer programs give young people a place to belong, adults who notice when they’re having a hard day, and something to look forward to. That link between out-of-school time (OST) and youth well-being still often gets overlooked.

The Colorado Afterschool Partnership invites you to a conversation with OST leaders, mental health partners and young people. Together they’ll explore how OST programs help young people thrive. Panelists will talk about:

  • What a healthy afterschool environment looks like, in young people’s own words

  • How everyday staff responses build belonging and help young people cope

  • How afterschool programs and behavioral health providers can work together

  • What it would take for Colorado’s youth-serving systems to share outcomes for young people who are thriving

This panel is for frontline OST staff, program directors, mental health partners, policymakers and anyone shaping how Colorado invests in young people. Frontline staff will see the difference they make every day. Partners and decision-makers will see why OST belongs in any plan for youth well-being.

There will be time for audience questions.

NOTE: Zoom links for these Virtual Sessions will be sent to each participant upon registration.  Please include names and emails for each participant if you are registering for colleagues.
