Spectator Media Conference: Future of Press Freedom

Registration has ended

About This Event

Join us for an afternoon centered on one of the most urgent questions in journalism today: what does it take to report the truth, and what is the future of press freedom?

Program

We'll open with a keynote address from Hannah Natanson, a narrative enterprise reporter at The Washington Post.

Natanson will then join Azmat Khan, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter at The New York Times and the Patty Cadby Birch Assistant Professor at Columbia Journalism School, and Kirsten Danis, CC ’92, investigations editor at The New York Times and a former Spectator Editor-in-Chief, for a conversation on press freedom and student journalism, moderated by Tsehai Alfred, CC ’27, Editor-in-Chief of the Columbia Daily Spectator.

The conference will close with a networking reception and light refreshments, open to all attendees and event sponsors.
