About This Event

A Raas-Garba event is a lively, vibrant celebration associated with the Hindu festival of Navratri where men, women, and kids of all ages dance in a rhythmic manner (mostly in circles) as they clap their hands (called Garba) and use wooden sticks (called Raas). The word Navratri is derived from the Sanskrit word “nava” (nine) and ratri (nights). Both Raas and Garba originated from the state of Gujarat in India to celebrate womanhood, community and togetherness!
