Meet our Keynote Speaker: Misty Delgado, Esq.
A proud daughter of Providence, Rhode Island, Attorney Misty Delgado’s lifelong connection to the communities she calls home deeply fuels her commitment to public service. Her journey is beautifully intertwined with CFP; she first connected with the organization over twenty years ago as a parenting youth in foster care, growing alongside CFP and eventually joining its Board of Directors.
Misty later stepped down from the CFP Board to accept the role of Senior Legal Counsel for the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), where she prosecuted sensitive cases involving the safety and well-being of children across the state. Today, she serves as DCYF’s Chief of Staff, overseeing a wide range of critical operations that support the department’s mission.
Misty’s journey reflects the growth and resilience that CFP works to inspire. During her first year with CFP, while participating in the mandatory parenting class as a young parent, she received the “Most Improved” award—an honor that speaks to her determination and commitment to growth. Today, she continues to serve her community through leadership roles on nonprofit boards statewide, focusing on education, essential services for justice-involved individuals, and the support and development of young people.
Misty lives in Rhode Island with her children and looks forward to sharing her experiences—from youth in foster care to adult advocate—as well as her hopes for the future of CFP, with all of us on October 1.

Nicole Estaphan Reporter and Producer, WCVB’s Chronicle
Award-winning journalist Nicole Estaphan is a reporter and producer for WCVB’s Chronicle, the nation's longest running and top rated locally produced news magazine which airs weeknights on WCVB at 7:30 PM. Nicole joined WCVB NewsCenter 5 in January of 2016 as a freelance news reporter.
Before joining WCVB, Nicole reported in Utica, New York; Burlington, Vermont; Providence, Rhode Island; and most recently Atlanta, Georgia at WAGA-TV FOX 5. During her time in the south, she conducted the last televised interview with poet Maya Angelou. Her work also included Georgia-based reporting for “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.” While in Georgia, Nicole received state recognition for her series of reports on a toxic neighborhood with a legacy of military waste dumping. The chemicals left behind were thought to be the cause of a cancer cluster. Though the military never admitted fault, Nicole’s reporting led to immediate mitigation.
While at WCVB, Nicole also spent some time over the last two years working on NASA’s North Atlantic Aerosols and Marine Ecosystems Study (NAAMES) documentary project, including shooting two full months in the North Atlantic. It was the first time a journalist was embedded for that length of time with a NASA mission at sea. She’s also done producing for The Discovery Channel.
In addition to her charity work serving as event emcee for The Muscular Dystrophy Association, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The National Brain Tumor Society, and Girls, Inc., she volunteers at a dog rescue shelter in Dedham, MA.
Without a doubt, and above all else, Nicole believes that sharing our stories can be life changing. Of all her work, encouraging younger generations is of utmost importance to her. She is currently working on a program with the Children’s Smile Coalition, to help kids living in poverty find their voice and confidence through public speaking.
Nicole graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a master’s degree in journalism. In her spare time, it is a safe bet that you can find her on the water or in the pottery studio.

Cody Lottmann is an artist based in Boston MA. They have been with DCF since the age of ten and are currently residing at Communities for people, where they have been since February 2024. They are a creative, and small business owner, of Cody’s Illustrations. Their passion for the creative field started when they were only five years old. They used to only work with crayons and washable paint at a young age, but one day they realized they could heat up crayons and melt it into something like the consistency of paint. That's when they and everyone around them knew they were going to be an artist. Since then, they have strived to learn as much as they can about art and pursue it as a career. Cody has published in the following Zines and Anthologies: - Spine (2023-2024,) The International Stories Project (Spring 2024,) Spine (2024-2025,) Excellence (December 2025.). Cody also partnered with Futures without violence for a performance in the summer of 2025. With an article written about the performance and the overall event. They also received an award Beyond Pride Scholarship for a written poetry project which allows them to pursue the idea of crafting a book of poetry and art to publish. With a most recent commission working with Communities for people to help design their 50th anniversary cards and Collateral for slideshow.
Currently Cody is finishing up their senior year and preparing for the start of their college journey, planning to major in illustration, and studio of interrelated media with minor in Business of the creative industries. They are also currently finishing up their fist book and plan to publish later on in 2026, which contains a mix of art and poetry.
