About This Event
Open Arms CommUnity Classes!
Inclusive and intergenerational - just like our dance company! All ages and abilities are welcome & no prior dance experience is needed. Bring grandparents, moms & dads, siblings, cousins, aunts & uncles, friends, neighbors, or come solo!
These classes are tons of fun and full of opportunities to JOYFULLY connect with eachother and your own love of movement. Plus, we’re hosting these classes in the beautiful dance space our friends at TRICA have created!
Sliding Scale Tuition
Our CommUnity Classes are financially inclusive too - with Sliding Scale tutition and full scholarships!
-One class ticket includes: [1 Adult + 1 Child] or [1 solo Adult/Teen]
-Bringing more than one kiddo? Great! Just add $5 per additional child
-If the full amount of $25/class doesn't work for you, simply use promo code "SlidingScale" with the number between 12-24 that you are able to pay. If you want to pay $18, then use the code "SlidingScale18," etc.
We ask that you pay an amount that is both sustainable for your own finances and for the continued operation of Open Arms Dance Project.
Are you a school teacher, veteran, parent with a single income, or a senior? Pay a little less!
If you can, we greatly appreciate you paying the full amount and supporting the work and mission of our non-profit!
Need a full scholarship? We've got you covered! Just email: openarmsdanceproject@gmail.com with a brief statement of need.
What to Expect
Why are Open Arms CommUnity Classes not-to-be-missed?! Well, Ms. Megan is no ordinary dance teacher - and if you’ve taken from her, you know what we mean. She’ll incorporate emotional regulation tips, meaningful connection across generations, raucously fun music, and movement games that will help get your creativity flowing. The result is your heart will be warmed by both movement and joy!
Megan received a Governor's Award in the Arts in 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance choreography and performance and has trained extensively in Integrated Dance, yoga instruction, and studied Elementary and Special Education. To enrich her teaching of all ages and abilities of dancers, she has trained in Brain-Compatible Dance Education with Anne Green Gilbert (2012), Integrated Dance with Jurg Koch (2013), the Dance for Parkinson's Disease program (2014), the AXIS Dance Company Integrated Dance Summer Intensive (2016), an adaptive dance teacher training by Boston Ballet (2019), and the BOISE Viewpoints & Suzuki trainings (2022-present).
