Newburgh Community Cleanup: April 25

Volunteer with community members from across the city to keep our shared Newburgh spaces clean and beautiful. 

Join the 2026 Newburgh Community Cleanup on Saturday, April 25! Check-in is at 8 AM on the Safe Harbors Green. 

For the first time in 14 years, we’re expanding our efforts into all four wards of the City of Newburgh — and we need more volunteers than ever to join this city-wide volunteer effort. Bring your colleagues, friends, and family for a meaningful and fun day of service in our community.  

What to know: 

• This event is rain or shine. 

• Participants must check in at Safe Harbors and sign a waiver before hitting the streets. 

• Heavy duty gloves and garbage bags will be provided.  

• Please note: this is NOT a bulk pickup day for large items.  

Hosted by Safe Harbors of the Hudson in collaboration with the City of Newburgh, Taylor-Montgomery LLC, and local partners, the Community Cleanup has had a real and measurable impact over the years: at the first event in 2011, volunteers removed 17.49 tons of garbage from city streets; in 2025, the total hauled away was only 5.6 tons–a 68% decrease. Help us make 2026 our best year yet!

Bring a Volunteer Team: The Cleanup is a great opportunity to bring together your staff or team while giving back and showing your support for Newburgh. RSVP to register your team, come to the Cleanup in your team's apparel for photo ops during the event, and promote the event by reposting/tagging Safe Harbors and #NewburghCommunityCleanup to help amplify our efforts!
