Tournament Details
Format of Play
Paddles for a Purpose is a doubles pickleball tournament featuring three skill divisions: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Teams will register into the appropriate division to ensure balanced and competitive play.
All divisions will begin with round robin pool play, guaranteeing multiple matches for each team. Following pool play, top teams will advance to a single-elimination bracket to determine final placements.
Matches will be time-based, with games lasting up to 15 minutes. Teams can expect approximately 7–8 total games, including pool play and bracket rounds.
Tournament play will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with six courts in use throughout the event. Play across divisions will overlap to maintain steady rotation and efficient use of courts.
Each skill division may be capped at 18 teams, with a maximum of 24 teams per division based on registration demand.
Tournament Day Timeline
9:00 a.m. Check-In
9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Round Robin Play
11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Bracket Play
1:30 – 2:00 p.m. Finals, Awards & Raffle
Exact match times and court assignments will be shared with registered teams prior to the event.
Rules & Officiating
- USA Pickleball rules will be followed. Round robin matches will be self-officiated, with players calling their own lines and scores.
- Floating referees will be available to assist with rule questions or disputes as needed. Championship matches will have a dedicated referee.
- Final rule interpretations and decisions rest with the tournament director.
Awards
Awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each skill division.
Additional fun elements will be part of the day, including:

Registration will be capped once divisions reach capacity. Registered teams will receive confirmation and detailed tournament information in advance, including schedules, check-in details, and court assignments.
Proceeds Benefit
Proceeds from Paddles for a Purpose will support Community Family Centers’ youth programs, helping provide safe spaces, enrichment, and opportunities for young people in the East End community.
