Bringing Parkinson's Education and Support to the Upper Peninsula
Join the Michigan Parkinson Foundation for a special Community Forum in Marquette as part of our statewide initiative to bring education, connection, and resources directly to communities across Michigan.
Whether you are living with Parkinson's disease, caring for someone who is, supporting a loved one, or working in healthcare, this event offers an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with others who understand the Parkinson's journey.
You'll leave with practical information, local resources, and a greater sense of community and hope.

PD 101 - Understanding Parkinson’s
Presented by: Grant Young, MD
An informative session covering:
- What is Parkinson’s disease?
- What causes PD?
- Who gets PD?
- Understanding motor and non-motor symptoms
- How Parkinson’s is diagnosed
- Treatment and symptom management options
- Support and resources available through MPF
Grant Young is an ABPN Board Certified Neurologist specializing in Movement Disorders. Originally from Michigan, he completed his residency in neurology at Vanderbilt and is finishing a Fellowship at the Michigan Medicine Movement Disorders clinic. In addition to his specialization, Dr. Young holds supplemental certification in rural medicine, reflecting a commitment to broad-access clinical care. Following his fellowship, he will be starting a movement disorders program at Munson in Traverse City.

Exercise Demonstration
Experience a live PWR! Moves demonstration led by Piersan Williams. Designed specifically for people living with Parkinson's, PWR! Moves focuses on improving mobility, balance, posture, and everyday function.
We're also excited to share that Piersan will soon be launching a new PWR! Moves class in the Marquette area beginning July 16, bringing specialized Parkinson's exercise opportunities closer to home.
