Rural Disaster Response COAD Panel & Dinner

Registration ends Thursday, 10/15/2026 11:59pm MDT

About This Event

Thursday, October 29 | Panel: 4:30–5:25 p.m. | Dinner: 5:30–8:00 p.m.

Join us for an afternoon and evening of conversation and connection focused on rural disaster response and community resilience.

Panel | 4:30–5:25 p.m. | The Tabor Opera House - 308 Harrison Ave, Leadville, CO 80461
When disaster strikes, rural nonprofits often play a critical role in helping their communities respond. This panel brings together community, emergency management, philanthropy, and nonprofit perspectives to explore what disaster response actually requires, the organizational costs involved, and how communities can be better prepared before the next event.

The panel will also introduce the COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster) model, a framework that helps communities build relationships and coordination systems before a disaster occurs.

Dinner | 5:30–8:00 p.m. | Airport Hangar - 915 County Road 23, Leadville, CO 80461
Following the panel, join us for dinner and an opportunity to continue the conversation, connect with fellow attendees, and build relationships across the region.

This panel and dinner are included with HOC RPD registration. Please only purchase a ticket if you do not have an existing registration for the HOC RPD conference.
