Most boards do not struggle because they lack bylaws, policies, or governance structures. Most boards struggle because there is a disconnect between what the organization needs, who is sitting around the board table, and how board members are engaged, equipped, and empowered to lead.
As organizations grow and evolve, so too must their boards. This training moves beyond foundational governance concepts and explores how organizations can intentionally cultivate boards that are aligned with their mission, responsive to their current season, and equipped to support long-term organizational success.
By the end of this training, participants will learn ways to:
Assess whether their current board composition aligns with their organization's present and future needs.
Identify gaps in skills, expertise, lived experience, relationships, and leadership capacity.
Strengthen recruitment and onboarding practices to build a more engaged board culture.
Implement strategies that foster trust, accountability, and meaningful participation among board members.
Develop a framework for cultivating future board leaders and sustaining long-term board effectiveness.
To encourage board and staff participation from an organization, each ticket allows all members of an organization (board members and staff) to watch the Zoom event together for one price.
