The Fredericksburg Area Museum is thrilled to announce the launch of our Community Support Campaign for Living Legacies: African American History in the Fredericksburg Area (2025)—a groundbreaking exhibition honoring the rich history, resilience, and contributions of Fredericksburg’s African American community.

The project illuminates powerful stories of resistance and community building, brought to life through a new multi-year exhibit, community storytelling, digital experiences, and dynamic programming.

NOTE: As of May 19, 2025, ongoing gifts support the continued care, object rotation, and programming for this meaningful installation. Each year, we will update the community recognition panel to honor new donors who contribute after the initial unveiling.
