About This Event

Winter Tales: From Fairlyland to Enigma
Saturday, December 19, 2026 @ 7:30 PM
Bates Recital Hall

The Austin Civic Orchestra welcomes Music Director finalist Dr. Bo Young Kang for the first concert in our 2026–27 season theme, Journeys of Wonder and Beauty. This winter program moves from the magical world of Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel Prelude to the playful charm of Bizet’s Jeux d’enfants, concluding with Elgar’s powerful and expressive Enigma Variations.

Join us as we begin our finalist series and experience an evening of storytelling, imagination, and orchestral beauty.

Youth are always free with discounts available for adults. Tickets available here or at the door. Please consider making a donation when obtaining a ticket.  We work to keep the ticket prices low and depend on individual donations to help us continue to bring concerts like this to the Austin community.
