Step into a winter evening of imagination and beauty with Winter Tales: From Fairyland to Enigma. As part of our season theme, Journeys of Wonder and Beauty, this concert invites you into a world of warmth, playfulness, and deep emotional resonance — all led by Music Director finalist Dr. Bo Young Kang.
You’ll be welcomed by the glowing magic of Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel Prelude, followed by the sparkling charm of Bizet’s Jeux d’enfants, a suite bursting with color and childlike wonder. The night culminates in Elgar’s beloved Enigma Variations, a powerful and expressive journey through friendship, mystery, and some of the most enduring orchestral writing ever composed.
This performance launches our series of four exceptional finalists who will shape the future of the Austin Civic Orchestra — and it’s your chance to be part of that story from the very beginning.
