Update: We went back for more

After evaluating the 10 dogs that arrived Friday morning, staff felt compelled to rescue as many as possible. The team immediately left and drove a three-hour round trip to bring back 6 more dogs. In total, 16 of the 65 animals have now been rescued — but many more still need help.

10 Animals Rescued Today — More to Come

Texas Humane Heroes was contacted by a shelter partner with an urgent plea to help save many of the 65 animals living in severe neglect while the property owners stayed in tents. Many of the animals are malnourished, neglected, and in desperate need of care. The owners only relinquished custody after a court order.

Staff and volunteers sprang into action, working tirelessly to make space, set up kennels, and restock supplies in preparation to isolate each animal until medical workups can be completed. It’s all hands on deck to get these neglected animals the care they need — and it’s a tremendous strain on resources.

Thanks to the support of our community, we were able to take in 10 of these animals. They are safe now — and with your help connecting dogs with loving homes over the weekend, we can rescue even more next week.

It’s only because of you and your generosity that we can step in during emergencies like this. As a private nonprofit, Texas Humane Heroes relies on donors like you to keep saving lives.to

Donate now provide food, medical care, and safe shelter for these animals — and help ensure that the next group of rescues can be brought to safety.
