Ladder Climb Exercise 

Candidates participating in the CPAT at the MAAC have the option to take part in an additional ladder climb exercise. This exercise is entirely separate from the CPAT and will not affect a candidate’s CPAT test results. If you already have successfully completed your CPAT, you do not have to do it again to participate in the Ladder Climb. 

The ladder climb is designed to test a candidate’s ability to ascend and descend a 24', fully extended ground ladder, which is secured in a fixed, inclined position. Candidates who successfully complete the exercise will receive a certificate of completion.

All participants will receive safety guidelines and detailed instructions before beginning the ladder climb.
 

Schedule

The ladder climb exercise is offered on designated CPAT practice and testing days.
 

Applicant Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old on the date of the scheduled session.
• Must present a valid government-issued driver’s license.
• Registrations are confirmed in the order received. Scheduling is on a first-come, first-served basis.
   

Fees & Registration

• A $25 fee is required and must be paid by credit card.
• A $10 fee applies for replacement or lost Ladder Climb Exercise Certificates of Completion.
• All fees must be paid in full before participating in the exercise.

Proper Attire

• Closed-toe and closed-heel footwear
• No loose or restrictive jewelry
• T-shirt or sweatshirt
• Long pants (shorts are not permitted)

Refunds and Rescheduling:

• With at least 24-hour notice, you may choose between a refund (minus a 10% processing fee) or a complimentary reschedule. To request a reschedule, email: cpatinfo@maacfoundation.org
• If notice is provided less than 24 hours before the test, refunds are not available, but you are eligible for one complimentary reschedule.
• You will not be eligible for a refund if you cancel you test or request to cancel after the scheduled test date.
