About This Event
Art for Arthur Street is a permanent installation of artworks at Arthur Street Hotel, a local hotel-style transitional housing service for individuals experiencing homelessness. Curated by Curate, Purchase, Inspire (CPI) Fellow Hannah Dewitt in partnership with Louisville Visual Art, the project cultivates a positive environment of artistic stimulation — offering residents moments of reflection, recognition, and warmth within their daily surroundings.
The works are connected through the principle of mutual aid — the practice of people supporting one another through community-led systems of care — emphasizing connection, dignity, and person-to-person solidarity.
This is a free event. We'll have refreshments and snacks, so please RSVP!

About LVA's Curate, Purchase, Inspire (CPI) Program
Curate, Purchase, Inspire (CPI) is a 12-month curatorial fellowship and art purchasing initiative led and stewarded by Louisville Visual Art (LVA). Launched in spring 2022 and envisioned by artist Clare Hirn, CPI supports local artists, uplifts emerging and community-rooted curators, and places original artwork within nonprofit and public environments where people gather, learn, and receive care.
Each year, LVA convenes a diverse committee of community arts leaders to select two CPI Fellows. Fellows develop community-engaged curatorial projects in partnership with a nonprofit or public organization, working closely with LVA staff to research Louisville-area artists, shape a curatorial framework responsive to community context, and select or commission artwork for long-term public display. All artworks selected through CPI are purchased by Louisville Visual Art and held in the public trust.
