About This Event

Dialogue Workshop with Emily Costa

on Tuesday, April 28th from 7 to 8:30 pm @ the Workshop Gallery in Building 3 at Ball & Socket Arts

In this workshop, we will take a closer look at how characters talk to each other. We will read some examples from literary fiction, learn different techniques from established authors, and try out some exercises. Come with already-written dialogue you’d like to play with, or use generative techniques to craft a scene in-class.

Workshop is limited to 12 participants, so be sure to register now! Writers at all levels are welcome to attend.

$30 gets you 90 minutes of instruction in the Workshop Gallery at Ball & Socket Arts. If cost presents a barrier to your participation, please reach out to our team for options at info@ballandsocket.org.

More about Emily Costa:

There will be an Author Talk for Emily Costa and Steff Sirois on April 26th at 2 pm at the ReRead Booksellers in Cheshire, CT! Emily Laura Costa is a writer from Waterbury, Connecticut. She received her MFA in fiction from Southern Connecticut State University.

Girl on Girl, a collection of short stories, is out now from Rejection Letters.

Until It Feels Right, a collection of diary entries chronicling her experience with intensive CBT for obsessive-compulsive disorder, is out now from Autofocus Books.

Emily is the cnf editor for Farewell Transmission and assistant flash editor for Split Lip Magazine.

Emily also writes a semi-regular essay newsletter called LISTLESS with her sister.
