About This Event

September 28: From Playlist to Prose: Using Music as a Starting Point for Story

with Chelsea Dodds

In this workshop, we will draw upon memories we associate with certain songs, artists, and/or music videos as a starting point for a story, and determine how to derive meaning from these small moments. We will also look for narrative threads that exist in song lyrics and music videos that we can use as inspiration for stories.

Chelsea Dodds is the author of the poetry chapbook "Nothing Good Will Get Away" (Finishing Line Press). She holds an MFA in fiction from Southern Connecticut State University and her writing has recently been supported by a residency at Craigardan in upstate New York. You can read more of her work at chelseadodds.com.

Workshop is limited to 12 participants, so be sure to register now! Writers at all levels are welcome to attend.

$30 gets you 90 minutes of instruction in the Workshop Gallery at Ball & Socket Arts. If cost presents a barrier to your participation, please reach out to our team for options at info@ballandsocket.org.
