The Mitzvah of Writing a Sefer Torah!

The mitzvah of writing a Sefer Torah is a special opportunity that connects each person to the sacred and holy words that guide our Jewish lives. It is the foundation of the education we are providing to our community's children at Columbus Torah Academy. We are excited to announce the rescheduled date for our Sefer Torah Dedication and Celebration on Tuesday, March 5 at 2:00 pm. The entire school community will come together to dedicate and celebrate. We invite parents and community members to participate in this special day for our students by making a dedication and celebrating with us.

Thank you to Lev & Lidia, z"l Kucherski who commissioned the writing of this new Sefer Torah especially for Columbus Torah Academy's students. Our heart aches for the Kucherski family on the recent passing of Mrs. Kucherski and pray that they find comfort in their memories and her loving commitment to family and community. The Sefer Torah Dedication and Celebration will be in her merit.

Celebration: Over the past 10 months, a sofer in Israel has been meticulously writing the Torah and now that it has arrived, we will complete the letters, dedicate its use, and dance our new Sefer Torah to its home in CTA's Aron Kodesh!  We look forward to this special school day celebration where our students will each have the mitzvah of being involved in completing the Torah and celebrating!

We invite you to join us on March 5!

Dedications: We invite you to join in this beautiful mitzvah by sponsoring a letter, parsha, or other section of the Torah! You can dedicate it for yourself, a friend, a teacher, a student, or a loved one.  All dedications will be recognized with a certificate of this special milestone. Even if you won't be in Columbus, consider a sponsorship to be a part of this event for our students. If you are in town, scheduled times will be available for sponsors to fulfill the mitzvah of completing the Sefer Torah on March 5 before the celebration.
