Dear Community Members,
We are thrilled to announce that the Davis High Community is "Tackling Cancer Together". The goal is to raise awareness about cancer, promote the importance of early screenings, helping to reduce the impact of this devastating disease.
On October 18, 2024, our DHS football players will wear pink during the game to honor those affected by cancer, symbolizing our solidarity and support. We invited you to join us in this vital cause by contributing to our fundraising efforts, where 100% of all funds will be donated to the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center to use on their new mobile mammography clinic.
Throughout the Greater Sacramento area, patients in many rural and urban communities struggle to access crucial preventative healthcare – many facing barriers like transportation, insurance, language differences, and distance to a provider or clinic. You can help eliminate these barriers.
UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center's new mobile mammography clinic will travel throughout our region to offer state-of-the-art 3D mammography to underserved and remote communities. Staffed with trained technicians, the expertise in our mobile clinic will mirror the radiology expertise found at the cancer center. More than 30% of women are inadequately screened, and rates are even lower among marginalized populations. With your help, we can extend our reach and save more lives.
In addition to financial support, we'll be selling pink horns at the Snack Shack throughout October and distributing cancer awareness bracelets to promote unity and awareness in our community.
Every contribution, no matter the size, can help us make a meaningful impact in the lives of those battling cancer. We thank you for considering our request and hope you will join us in this important initiative. Together, we can create a stronger, more supportive community in the fight against cancer.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
With gratitude,
Davis High Community
