About This Event
Celebrate Día de Muertos with art and creativity with a Deaf artist, Bere Alvarez-Caballero! Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday that celebrates and honors loved ones who have passed away. Rather than being a sad occasion, it’s a vibrant, joyful tradition rooted in Indigenous practices blended with Catholic influences. It’s usually observed on November 1st and 2nd. In this hands-on class, you’ll paint your own vibrant skull (calavera) while learning about the holiday’s colorful traditions. No experience needed—bring your imagination!
All materials are provided, and this class is perfect for adults and teens ages 15 and up.
Register below to reserve your spot before October 22nd for the class on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at DEAF, Inc., starting at 1:00 pm CDT.
