Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I sponsor the Habitat for Humanity of Wood County 2023 Hard Hat and High Heels Gala and how will my dollars affect our community?

A. This event will benefit the opening of a new Habitat ReStore in Wood County, Ohio.  ReStore is an integral part of Habitat’s mission that brings financial support for our work, keeps items that would otherwise be thrown away out of landfills, provides affordable goods to the community and creates employment opportunities.

Q. Will my company receive any community recognition?

A. Absolutely! All sponsors will be forever included on our “ReStore Wall of Fame” with a beautifully engraved wooden plaque with names/logos, as specified by you. You will also receive special recognition at the event, in the event program, on our website and on our social media platforms.  Our top sponsors will also receive the priceless experience of a Team Build Day for 10 people on a Habitat jobsite.

Q. Is my donation tax deductible?

A. Habitat for Humanity of Wood County, Inc., is a registered 501(c)3 and your gift is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law as provided under IRS Section 170.

Q. Why aren’t any tickets included in my sponsorship?

A.  We made the decision to create affordable sponsorship levels that would not include the cost of tickets. In this way, 100% of the sponsorship dollars will be directed towards the needed up-front costs required to open a ReStore so that we can help more families achieve ownership of decent and affordable housing.

Q. What can I expect at the gala?

A. The “Hard Hats and High Heels” Gala will begin at 6pm and run until 10pm. We will host a cocktail hour with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres from 6pm-7pm at which time you will be able to preview the silent and live auction items. Dinner and a program will begin at 7pm and will include a welcome and description of the purpose of the evening with special shout-outs to our sponsors. During our program, a future Habitat Homeowner will also share their story of how affordable, decent housing through Habitat has made a difference in their lives. Fundraising opportunities will be showcased throughout the evening, including a silent auction, live auction, and interactive table games that you don’t want to miss.
