Why the Toy Cart Matters
When a child is admitted to Lompoc Valley Medical Center, a familiar comfort can make all the difference. The Toy Cart visits pediatric patients throughout the hospital, offering a small gift that says “we see you, and we care.” Your donation — whether a toy dropped in a collection bin or a few dollars given online — keeps the cart stocked and rolling every single day.

Program details
Who receives the toys
All pediatric inpatients and pediatric Emergency Department patients are eligible to receive a toy. When requested or needed, hospital staff deliver gifts to children at the bedside or in the exam room, ensuring every child feels seen and cared for during their stay – regardless of diagnosis or length of admission.
How the cart works
The Toy Cart is stocked as needed with donated items and funds managed by the Foundation. When the cart runs low, the Foundation purchases additional inventory using monetary donations to ensure no child is missed.
