Registration ends Friday, 10/30/2026 11:59pm EDT

About This Event

The Gospel of Luke tells us that Jesus's ministry was sustained through the material and financial support of the women around him, including Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna. Today, women can continue to support the work of the church through wise financial planning and informed giving.

Join the Dominican Sisters of Peace for an empowering discussion featuring practical guidance on becoming a financially wise woman with the aim of making a generous impact on the work of the Church and its ministries.

Sr. Joanne Caniglia, OP, will discuss the impact of your philanthropy on the work of the ministry. Then Mary C. Slane and Branda Allen will lead a conversation on women and philanthropy including current giving, legacy planning, finding organizations that support your passion, and a variety of giving methods.

Light refreshments, including wine and hors d'oeuvres, will be served. We encourage you to bring a friend or colleague to share a glass of wine, delicious snacks, and a conversation focusing on how to become Generous Women.

Branda Allen

Branda Allen is a Partner and Chief Operations Officer of TCP Asset Management, an independent wealth management firm she co-founded with her husband, Josh.  With over 24 years of experience in retirement and wealth management, Branda holds her Series 6, 7, 66, and 24 licenses and leads TCP's practice management, operations, and women-in-business initiatives across the firm's nine offices.

At TCP, Branda and her team have built a process that guides clients through goal-setting, planning, and achievement — helping individuals and families become confident stewards of what they've been given, and equipping them to give generously and wisely in return. She is passionate about empowering women, in particular, to understand their finances so they can make informed decisions that reflect their values and support the causes closest to their hearts.

Branda is married to Josh, her husband of nearly 20 years and one of her business partners, and together they are raising three children, ages 23, 21, and 19. Her faith is central to who she is, both at home and in how she approaches her work. Outside the office, Branda loves the outdoors, staying active, cooking and baking new healthy recipes, and cheering on Ohio State football.

Mary C. Slane

As an independent Wealth Advisor, Mary C. Slane, focuses on helping women, develop a comprehensive financial plan, focusing on life goals, including developing gifting strategies to leave the legacy her clients envision. She does this by listening and guiding them through the many options to gain a better understanding of their unique needs. Mary then provides solutions that reflect what is important to her clients. As part of this process she helps them uncover their “money story” in order to align their financial decisions with their life’s purpose.

Mary’s background includes working for an estate planning firm, small business law, direct product sales and owning a bookkeeping firm. However, it was her knack for managing her own family’s financial resources and making wise investments to successfully pay for three college educations while planning for retirement that ultimately provided the motivation for Mary to become a financial professional more than 25 years ago.

Mary has been published in Central Ohio’s Business First, the Daily Reporter and featured in Columbus C.E.O. Magazine. She has also appeared on “Good Day Columbus.”

Mary is an active member of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD). She also volunteers for a variety of non-profit organizations and has held board positions at HandsOn Central Ohio, WELD, and The Transition Network.
