About This Event

Down to Box provides individuals with Down Syndrome the essential tools to enhance coordination, develop self-defense skills, and improve physical fitness through boxing techniques.

Saturdays 10:30 am - 11:30 am

October 4- December 20 

**October 18 class begins at 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM for a boxing fun day!

No classes:

  • October 25
  • November 29

Programming Focus

  • Coordination through boxing techniques
  • Beginning skills of self-defense
  • Increasing confidence levels -Identifying movements to improve Hypotonia (low muscle tone and strength- common in individuals with Down syndrome)
  • Adaptations based on the individual
  • Conditioning for: speed, agility, endurance, accuracy, hand-eye coordination, and footwork

DSAmd fuels this initiative financially, D2B provides the framework and The Hot Box and Coaches are paid to deliver the curriculum.
