Pediatric Dental Health & Down Syndrome- August 26 at 6 PM
Join us for an informative discussion with a pediatric dentist about oral health considerations for children with Down syndrome. Learn about common dental concerns, preventive care, oral hygiene strategies, and tips for supporting healthy smiles throughout childhood.
Presented by Dr. Jordan Virden from Smiles4Children
Dr. Jordan Virden is from Ellicott City, Maryland. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech with an undergraduate degree in biology. While at the University, she spent time volunteering at a dental clinic for an underserved population in southwest Virginia. It was there that she established an interest in dentistry. Dr. Virden is a former Smiles4Children patient who later joined our staff as a dental assistant and developed a love of pediatric dentistry. Dr. Virden is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Discover how these tax-advantaged savings accounts can help individuals with disabilities save and invest money without jeopardizing critical means-tested benefits such as SSI or Medicaid. Topics covered will include:
- Who is eligible to open a Maryland ABLE account?
- Contribution limits and tax advantages.
- How funds can be used to support disability-related expenses.
- Tips for maximizing the benefits of your Maryland ABLE account.
There will also be an opportunity for Q&A with experts to address your specific questions.

Dentistry for Adults with Down Syndrome- September 24 at 7 PM
Drs. Kelly Betts & Leigh Ryan of Integrative Dental Wellness will lead a discussion focusing on the unique oral health needs and challenges of the special care population. We hope to share our success stories and obvious passion with the audience regarding the unique oral health needs of individuals with Down Syndrome and other special healthcare needs. Together, we’ll review everything from home care to comprehensive, compassionate dental treatment and resources available to patients and their families.
