Race Rules & Prizes

Duck purchases can be made beginning May 1 online at this page. Duck sales end July 31, 2026 at noon CST.

Ducks will be raced on Aug. 1, 2026 at 9:45 a.m. at Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve.

A number (1 – 500) will be attached to each duck relating to the number of the official purchase made online. Multiple duck entries on one online purchase will be assigned a separate duck number for identification purposes. The person whose name appears on the purchase that matches the winning duck will be awarded the $500 cash prize. Positive identification will be required to claim a prize.

* The race committee reserves the right to postpone or reschedule the event because of inclement weather, acts of God, or other circumstances beyond the committee’s control. In case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances that prevent the launch of the ducks, the cash prize will be presented through a random drawing.

Prize winners need not be present to win and will be announced following the event and notified by telephone, email, and/or certified U.S. mail. If a winner does not claim prize within 30 days of the race date, or if the Friends’ presenter is unable to contact winner due to insufficient or illegible contact information, or if a winner is deemed ineligible to win a prize, presenter will select a substitute winner by random drawing of entries. All prizes will be awarded. Prize winners must be individuals at least 18 years or older. Prize winners must show proper id and necessary information for tax documents to claim prize. Prizes may not be substituted.
