Artist Talk: Delsy Rubio

Registration ends Saturday, 01/10/2026 5:59pm EST

About This Event

Doors Open at 5:00pm for mingling & refreshments, Artist Talk begins promptly at 5:30pm.

Join us for an intimate conversation with Delsy Rubio as she explains the inspirations behind the work in her current exhibition, Echoes: Movement and Permanence.

Delsy explores the dialogue between material, line, and geometry, using nontraditional techniques to reflect on the tension between what changes and what remains. Each work functions as a resonance that transforms while holding onto what is essential.

Delsy Rubio was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where she earned a BA in Plastic Expression, with a focus on Drawing, Painting and Graphic Arts, at the Julio Árraga School of Plastic Arts in 1985. After a successful career in graphic design and entrepreneurship, she turned her full focus to her art practice in 2011.

Recognition of her work  includes the Honorable Mention at the Chess in Art Salon of the Centro de Bellas Artes Ateneo de Maracaibo in Venezuela in 2014 and the Second Prize at the Origins in Geometry Biennial in Dallas, TX and a Merit Award from Art Center Sarasota in 2023. Her artwork is held in private collections globally and in the permanent collection of the Museum of Geometric & MADI Art. Delsy has exhibited in Venezuela, the United States, Italy, Netherlands, Peru, and Spain.
